In order for proper up-liftment in higher education at Jamalpur and Sheerpur region a private university  at Jamalpur district headquarter  named Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib University was established under the auspicious initiative of honorable state Minister Mirza Azam MP. The  university got sanction from UGC, Ministry of Education, honorable Prime Minister and His Excellency the President of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh in the year 2013.Considering economic backwardness of the region, Mirza Azam MP and Other members  of the Board of Trustees fixed the cost of study at a very lower level, so that a meritorious student of a poor family can afford university level education here.
